There's someone in my womb.

Well after 9 months of being a complete pregzilla, I'm finally up the duff! It only took 9 positive pregnancy tests to convince Adam, but as of this morning he has a grin from ear to ear. There was no real "oh my god, I'm pregnant" moment because dickhead, impatient me decided to start testing practically as soon as Adam made his deposit. So I had lots of reallly faint + tests, basically right up until I saw the line up above. It certainly explains why my hangover hasn't gone away since last saturday night.

Don't worry, this blog isn't going to turn into a prissy preggo blog. I will reserve the right to have the occasional bitch slap whinge though, but a warning will be set in place beforehand.

Sarah (my sister) and I were going through some names last night, and stumbled across the name Gunna and Harva. So we decided the baby's name, until it's born is Gunna Harva "insert last name here". To those who know my last name, it will be funny. To those who don't, just insert your own funny word, and it will be funny.

So, welcome to the womb, Gunna Harva, hope your stay is no longer than 40 weeks!!

Australia Day 2006 (the hottest day!)

Adam getting into the spirit of Australia Day

Hilarious Adam, just hilarious.

This year we celebrated Australia Day in a truly Australian way. We hosted our 4th Annual Australia day/Triple J Hottest 100 bbq. The weather lived up to it's Australian way giving us a scorching 39 degrees. To say it was hot would be an understatement, our backyard was literally an oven. Most people survived the day by migrating between the cool on the indoors, and the heat of the outdoors. There was many a waterfight, one of which involved Madge (much to her disgust). The triple J hottest 100 countdown kept us busy, and 7 of my 9 votes made it in. I must say Im a tad pissed off that Bernard Fanning and Ben Lee took the number 1 and 2 spots. Number 2 couldn't have gone to a bigger wanker. Number 1 couldn't have gone to a more boring and repetitive song (except for maybe number 2). A bit of an anticlimax all round was the general feeling on the matter.

As you can see from the photo, Adam got into the spirit of the day (wanker) as he does each year. The apron was kindly donated by my sister.

So yes, another Australia day has ended, marking the true end of all festivities. Life is going back to normal, with parents returning to work, uni about to start back, and all the other bullshit in between before the Christmas season begins in November (O Holy Night).

So from all of us, HAPPY AUSTRALIA DAY! (or whatever it is you say on this day)

Detainees escape from southern suburbs detention centre.

The poison victims at Hackham Detention Centre

Two Adelaide detainees escaped from an Adelaide detention centre in the early hours of the evening on Monday. It is understood that the two escapees, known only as Madge and Sharlene, were assisted by a third party, who is known only as "The Evil One". Guards at the Hackham detention centre heard a noise at approximately 8.30pm which alerted them to the escape. "I heard the voice of someone saying 'c'mon, c'mon' and I immediately knew what was going on" said one of the guards. It is believed "The Evil One" had been visiting Madge and Sharlene frequently, in what can only be believed to have been preperation for the big escape. Guards were quick to respond to the break out and the escapees were quickly recaptured and placed back into detention. It is not known what sort of punishment the escapees and their accessory will face, but the Hackham detention centre is facing an inquiry into their security measures.

In other news "The Evil One " is believed to have been involved in an attack on several other detainees of the Hackham Detention Centre. It is believed "The Evil One" entered the premises early Monday morning and attempted to poison the detainees with what can only be described as "saltanas". Later it was revealed that "The Evil One" was overheard to have said "Fishies eat it!" whilst trying to smuggle a small cake into their cell. "The Evil One" is currently being detained awaiting questioning.

Here chook chook chook chook!

Anyway, on Friday it was my birthday, I'm now 23 years old. I celebrated it with my Neice Tessa who was also born on the same day 2 years ago! It's SO MUCH FUN celebrating it with her, it really makes me feel closer to her and Im looking forward to the day the we can both do something special together, just the two of us. Something like the movies or even one day, a drink at the pub! (or cafe, I guess it depends what she's into!). Maybe though by then she won't want to share that day with me, oh well, I can still feel excited about it! Here's a pic of Darcy and Tessa together on our birthday. I was very spoilt on my birthday. I recieved lots of mullah to buy some clothes, and also the CSIRO total well-being diet book, a complete summer hair care and body care pack, an indoor plant, a Better homes and Gardens magazine, two awesome necklaces and I think that's about it! I was very spoilt though and had a great day!

Here's a pic of Darcy and Tessa together on our birthday.

Today we bought some hens. 2 laying hens to be exact! We welcomed them into our family as Madge and Sharlene! Gotta love a bogan chook!

Im surprised at how much I like them though. I thought I would be all 'meh' but I'm actually really excited by them!!

So yes, a very exciting weekend was had by all!

Sharks

Last night Darcy and I went to the beach with my mum and dad. For the South Aussies reading this it was Christies Beach. Anyway, mum was swimming with Darcy about 5-10 metres from the shore whilst dad and I were about not quite waist deep. Anyway there I am looking at mum and Darcy, when about 5 metres from them I see a FIN!! A FUCKING FIN!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! I was looking at this fin thinking, "Is that a fin" only to look at mum who says "get out". So I did what any mother would do who's child is risk of being Shark food, I ran for my life, leaving my mother to struggle for shore with Darcy. (oh shite, Im going to hell). Anyway we are standing there thinking, where did it go, when the fin surfaced again, so I started screaming to everyone in the water "GET OUT GET OUT!!!" to which people started scrambling for the beach. Then, someone calmly says "it's a dolphin". Hee. A Dolphin. Bloody dangerous loving animals. But I tell you it was bloody scary! There have been a few shark attacks recently that has spooked everyone. Although people were laughing, probably relieved that we weren't so close to being eaten, no one went back into the water. We went in a little bit, but still felt nervous. It was so bloody scary though! I still get shivers just thinking about it!

I wonder if thats my near death experience?? hmmm........

Yawn.

Wow. Im so. Bored. I really don't feel like staying at home tonight, but I don't have any other options - and it's a Saturday night! What a sad, sad person. Meh!

I saw the new Harry Potter movie "The Goblet of Fire" on Tuesday night, and it was AWESOME!! I LOVED it. It was a while ago that I read the book, so I guess it was easy for me to enjoy it as I wasn't comparing it so much to the book. I can see how some people would feel a little frustrated with the movie if they had just finished the book. Anyway, it was great. I even cried!! I can't even begin to imagine how Im going to cope in the next lot of movies!! So sad I know, but I think I've already mentioned in the post that I have a somewhat sad life at the moment.

Adam has booked a room for us to stay in on the 21st of this month! Im so excited!! We have an engagement party to attend in town so thought we'd make the most of free alcohol and get a room to crash into after. We have already organised with a few closer friends to meet at our hotel before hand for a few drinks which should be good fun! Im really looking forward to it actually!

Not much else is happening, Im really enjoying not working at the moment, although I do have a few more shifts coming up, but Adam will be home so it won't be that bad really. Today Darcy and I went to a 3 y/olds birthday party at Hungry Jacks (Scungy Cracks) which wasn't toooooooo bad. I was good and had a baguette instead of a burger (Ok, can I just say that I haven't been able to say the word burger without wincing since Dean off Big Brother 05 referred to Vesna's vagina as a burger!! I expecially hate it when the Scungy Crack adds are on and they talk about their big juicy burgers HOLY CRAP!!!). Anywhoo, posted is a pic of Darcy at the party.

Hot enough for you love?

Saying it's hot would make me look like a dickhead. That's because today it's cold. For the last 3 days however it's been 38 + degrees, that's in celsius! Pt Augusta recorded 46 degrees on Friday - that's closer to 50 than it is to 40! Holy. Shite.

The above pic is of Darcy 'chilling' in the airconditioning, only man's best ever invention and saviour of my soul from burning in the depths of, well earth - on a hot day.

Onto more important things, today is the first day of 2006. 2005 is gone forever, etched into history.

Highlights of 2005 would be

getting married
honeymooning in New Zealand
buying our house we are living in
Adam turning 30 (oh so funny, only 7 years to go for me!)

complete fucked up moments would consist of

thinking I was pregnant for a week, only to find out my body is a dirty ho
getting a new car, with no f'ing bloody airconditioning
growing to be a big lump of fat
failing to fertilize my eggs

Ambitions for 2006 (also known as resolutions)

Lose weight, and no I don't say this every year, last year I didn't feel I needed to lose weight, the year before I did and lost 14 kilos!
Stop swearing (and fuck no, not on the internet, that's my only venting point!)
fertilize my eggs

I got off to a good start last night, and I don't believe I have sworn once yet (ok, I said the C word last night shortly after midnight, purely because I though it was funny). I spent the New year with my parents and a few family and friends. Darcy was good and saw it in watching (rather intensly) the Edinburgh Tattoo, what the..? We were treated to a fireworks...display. Not bad for the local bogan community club, not bad at all!

So Happy New Year to all, let's hope it's filled with joy and happiness and all the things we want in life including the 35 million dollars I've probably one on New Year lotto and just don't know it yet. Ok I'll be happy with just 30 mill, let some other poor bastard have the other 5, I won't mind.
